Remember when people were lauging at 29er wheels? Well, they're not laughing now. For the Stereo 170 TM we began with the new RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork - with 38mm stanchions for precise handling - and Super Deluxe Ultimate shock. Then we selected a set of Hayes Dominion A4 hydraulic disc brakes, for their awesome stopping power and light lever feel. We threw in Shimano's peerless XT 1x12 transmission, with its precise shifting and incredible reliablity. And finished with a Newmen Evolution wheeelset shod with Schalbe's new Magic Mary SuperTrail and revised Big Betty SuperGravity 2.4in tyres to help you keep the rubber side down.
Frame and equipment
Big wheels, big travel: it's a design conundrum that's defeated many. But not us. The Stereo 170 29's frame is based on our proven four bar suspension design and Agile Trail Geometry, for superb suspension performance and dependable handling. The short linkage and covered bearings contribute to its precision and low maintenance requirements. And hydroformed tubes and internally routed cables mean that it looks as good as it rides. It'll redefine your expectations of what a big travel, big wheeled bike can do.
For whom is the Cube Stereo 170 TM 29 suitable?
For the ambitious all mountain biker. Perfectly designed frames, well thought-out components and adjustable spring/damper settings ensure that the path of these bikes adapts to the bikes. The mountain calls and these bikes follow. The wide range of applications - from the Alpine tour to the Hometrail - leave nothing to be desired. The premium components also open up this bike category to riders who do not have their own workshop in the basement. Ascend, start riding, be surprised!
The advantages of 29 inch tires
29 inch is THE trend of the last few years, which was able to assert itself completely. Initially viewed critically by mountain bike purists and equipped with some teething troubles, the bike industry has recognized the trend and made it the new standard through continuous improvements. The advantage of the 29" tyres is the enormous running smoothness, which brings great advantages and saves power on long tours as well as uphill and downhill. Obstacles are easier to overcome due to the larger circumference of the wheels, and a greater distance is covered by turning the bottom bracket. By improvements and adjustments in the frame construction and the component selection, initial problems with the agility in the Trail and the optics of smaller frames were optimally balanced. Whether fully or hardtail, a 29 will take you far away.
